Jump Left Jump Left is an arts enterprise working at the intersection of art and disability.

Located at Donkey Wheel House in Naarm/Melbourne, we build projects and possibilities with artists and creative partners. We know the arts and have successfully worked at the intersection of art and disability for over 15 years. During this time, we recognised a growing need for disabled, neurodivergent, intellectually and learning disabled artists to access more progressive professional services

that support them to bring their creative projects to life, advance their artistic endeavours, increase visibility and link artists and their work with global audiences. We also identified demand for more professional, supportive, online and in-person spaces for people with disabilities to connect. These frameworks are especially critical for artists who require additional support to access resources, communicate and express their ideas. In 2024, we formed Jump Left [Art.Co.Lab] in Naarm, Melbourne, as a leading arts and disability enterprise to empower artists, cultivate creative projects and champion inclusive arts practice. We develop experimental, promotional, commercial and experiential opportunities for artists to access and co-create with peers, studios and partners as one-off, medium and longer-term undertakings. We are also a resource for audiences to learn more about this niche contemporary art field at the intersection of art and disability.

💖 We are thrilled to present ‘I Ain’t No Fancy Bird’, a solo exhibition by Maya Tamang — her first with Jump Left.

Join us for the launch this Thursday 23 July, 6–8pm. The show opens to the public Friday 24 July, coinciding with Open House Melbourne (24 – 26 July).

‘I Ain’t No Fancy Bird’ is the culmination of Maya Tamang’s recent studio practice, an exhibition which focuses on deeply felt portraits of people who are inspirational and important to her.

Drawing from classic Hollywood, her paintings channel the playfulness, flamboyance, expressiveness, and exuberance of that era, characteristics similarly personified by her chosen sitters and cultural icons. This exciting new exhibition demonstrates Tamang’s commitment to her practice and significant artistic accomplishments to date.

Our inaugural Artists in Residence exhibition opens this afternoon — and we cannot wait to welcome you.

We’re proud to present new work by four extraordinary artists who’ve been creating right here in our project space over recent months:

We’re thrilled to have ten artists working with Jump Left featured in the Linden Postcard Show 2026 — launching Saturday, 6 June, 1-4pm at Linden New Art, St Kilda through 1 August! 💖

A huge thank you to Linden for welcoming Jump Left as a Social Impact Partner this year. This partnership allowing more artists to connect with peers and audiences.

Look out for small-scale works by Cam Michael, Charlie, Vickie Lock, Pixie Albert, N**s, Elena Longmire, Tania Rasen, Josh Ivankovic, Maya Tamang, and Madeleine Webster.
