The program aims to provide theatrical entertainment for children but with a defined difference. Our performances are underlined with educational ou
tcomes because each performance created for the program has been developed and guided by the Australian Government’s (2009) ‘Early Years Learning Framework’. Here at El Telon Theater Company, we are continuously looking to develop new ideas, and in turn, demonstrate new ways of thinking. This methodology applies to every aspect of our theatre making and in turn the delivery of our performances. Our audience members, however young or small, are encouraged to embrace this methodology when watching and interacting with our performances. The environment established by the performances for our young audiences are safe but exciting, they also encourage the growth and exploration in every audience member. We at El Telón believe that no matter the skill level of our young audience members, every child should be granted the opportunity to learn and develop throughout the journey of each performance. We believe that every child is gifted in their own way and therefore aim to foster a performance environment that encourages them to gain or improve on a range of skills and understanding that will be beneficial for their future. El Telón encourages the audience to engage with the story and performers on an interactive level. This approach allows young children to openly express themselves while becoming involved in the creation of the performances delivered by the El Telon team. Potential Benefits of El Telón for Kids
