Mickys art Connecting you to contemporary talent.

Founded in 2014, Mickys art exists to connect artists and buyers to each other, providing a unique platform for emerging and established local and international artists to showcase their work in the Australian market. Our portfolio currently includes over 20 contemporary artists, including local talent Dina Broadhurst, Steven John Clark, Ivan Itch, Stanislas Piechaczec, as well as international cr

eative heavyweights, Banksy, Jeff Koons, Keith Haring and Yayoi Kusama. We opened the doors to our physical space, Mickys art gallery, in Richmond in early 2021, providing a landscape for Australians to both view and procure contemporary art from some of the world's most prolific artists. For those who are unable to visit our gallery, the Mickys art experience is also available through our eCommerce platform, where our expert Art Advisors offer virtual assistance to meet one’s art buying needs.

Our procurement team assembled this private collection by procuring works from artists operating across more than twelve global cities.

Developed through an international art strategy, the collection brings together museum-exhibited artists, internationally recognised contemporary practitioners and emerging Australian artists exhibiting globally. Each acquisition was sourced through artist studios, galleries and international networks, creating a dialogue between the interior architecture, the collectors taste profiles and contemporary practices from around the world.

operates at the intersection of contemporary painting and collectible design, working from his atelier in Como, Italy. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Basedow draws on over three decades of experience across carpentry, textile dyeing, craftsmanship and design, forming a practice that is both materially complex and conceptually refined.

At the core of his work is resin. Layered over pigment, textiles and often hand-sourced Moroccan, Afghan or Persian rugs, it creates luminous, reflective surfaces that shift with light and perspective. Each piece is built through superimposition, where every gesture informs the next, resulting in compositions that balance control and spontaneity. His paintings carry a sculptural presence, functioning as both surface and object, with a depth that rewards close and repeated viewing.

Alongside his fine art practice, Basedow co-founded the Draga & Aurel studio in 2007, gaining international recognition through Milan Design Week and collaborations with leading brands including Baxter, Poltrona Frau and Visionnaire. This dual positioning across art and design continues to define his relevance today, placing his work within both private collections and global design culture.

For collectors, Basedow offers a rare convergence of material innovation, European atelier practice and international design pedigree, making his works compelling additions to contemporary collections.

, a Melbourne-born contemporary artist, has evolved from the city’s street art scene into one of Australia’s most internationally recognised and highly collectible practices, now exhibiting across leading galleries, major art fairs and institutions worldwide. His work translates Indigenous iconography into a sharp, graphic visual language that operates with clarity across both cultural and global contexts.

Recent projects reflect the scale of his trajectory. Rennie became the first artist to design Australia’s national football kit for the Socceroos and Matildas with Nike, while his collaboration with McLaren Formula 1 extended his work into large-scale, cross-disciplinary environments. These sit alongside his major survey exhibition, REKOSPECTIVE, at the National Gallery of Victoria, and continued presentations across international platforms including Art Basel.
