Gabelich Gallery Gallery & Curators of private collections worldwide Our approach is considered in context.

Gabelich Gallery works with an international program of emerging, mid-career, established and museum-grade contemporary artists. The network spans painters, sculptors, furniture artists, photographers, object makers and digital artists, practitioners shaping contemporary culture across leading studios, galleries and international art centres. Through its curatorial advisory and procurement division, Oliver Artlab, the gallery extends this access to private collectors. We define the curatorial direction and lead the global sourcing of contemporary artwork for private collections and residences worldwide, establishing the aesthetic and visual language for the entire collection, and positioning collectors to acquire original pieces with intent. Through close briefing and spatial review, we align scale, tone and placement with the architecture. Artists are sourced internationally through our private network, beyond public release, ensuring cohesion, restraint and long-term relevance. From curatorial direction and network exploration to procurement, bespoke commissions and white-glove acquisition support, every stage is guided by a single global point of view, connecting your walls to hundreds of the world's most compelling artists.

Discussing the process behind this large sculpture with Mark Whalen

In conversation with Mark, we chatted about the largest stone sculpture he’d made to date for a collector, a piece weighing 7,000 pounds that pushed his practice into new territory, working with natural stone that could withstand the elements and requiring engineering and landscaping adjustments on site to install. He walked us through the journey the collector took to realise this piece, and how it now lives outdoors year-round, sitting quietly beneath the snow through winter.

Inside the world of Jonathan Chapline

Born in 1987 in Savannah, Georgia and raised in Waco, Texas, Chapline now lives and works in Brooklyn. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, he paints at the seam between the rendered and the hand-painted, building flattened, luminous interiors and figures that feel pulled from an early computer screen into oil and acrylic. Working in a charged palette often dominated by electric indigo, he explores how digital tools have reshaped the way we picture bodies, objects and space, inviting the viewer into a voided, uncanny world suspended between the virtual and the real.

Represented by Nanzuka in Tokyo and showing with The Hole in New York, Chapline has exhibited across New York, Tokyo, Naples, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Los Angeles and Miami, with solo presentations including Metropolis and Statuesque at Nanzuka and Sprawl at The Hole. His recent work has expanded from canvas into large-scale bronze sculpture, and his paintings now command significant results on the secondary market.

Meet fast-rising British painter Vanessa Raw.

Recently acquired by the UK’s Arts Council Collection, signalling institutional alignment.

Born in 1984 in Hexham and now based in Margate, Raw came to painting after an eleven-year career as a professional triathlete. Her work explores the entanglement of body, landscape and myth, drawing on Greek and Mexican cosmologies to paint female figures in states of transformation, where the line between self and environment begins to dissolve. Through a symbolic language of animals, vegetation and elemental forms, and a heightened palette, her large-scale canvases move between the intimate and the archetypal, centring female pleasure, kinship and the body’s continuity with nature. The landscapes behind her figures are drawn from photographs taken on her daily runs, binding the imagined to the remembered feeling of oneness with the natural world.

A graduate of Loughborough University, Raw was nominated by Tracey Emin for Frieze London’s Artist-to-Artist section in 2023, entered the Arts Council Collection through the Frieze Acquisitions Fund in 2025, and has held solo exhibitions at the Rubell Museum in Miami, Casa Lamm in Mexico City, and Carl Freedman Gallery in Margate.

Latest paintings by Hayal Pozanti

Born in 1983 in Istanbul and now based in Manchester, Vermont, Pozanti paints in oil stick and oil pastel, building swirling, organic forms in deep jewel-toned hues. Her compositions grow out of a private alphabet of thirty-one shapes she invented, glyphs that over a decade have softened into amoeba-like forms suggesting imaginary landscapes and mysterious biological life. She treats painting as a kind of world-making, a way to be present in reality while inventing one of her own.

A graduate of Yale, Pozanti is represented by Timothy Taylor and Jessica Silverman, with solo shows across New York, London, San Francisco, Istanbul, Berlin, Los Angeles and Brussels. In 2021 she created Instant Paradise, an eighty-five-foot permanent ceiling installation at the New York Public Library’s Stavros Niarchos Foundation branch, and in 2024 she represented the first American Pavilion at the Gwangju Biennale. Her work is held in the Hammer Museum, LACMA, the Denver Art Museum, the Broad Art Museum and the Long Museum in Shanghai, among others.

Curating studio with his latest collection.

A day in Como pulling pieces with Aurel, setting the studio with selected works and seeing the paintings at home, lived with rather than hung for show. A mix of new available pieces, work in progress, and the environment they come from.

A contemporary artist and collectible designer based in Como, Aurel is co-founder with Draga Obradovic of the internationally recognised Draga & Aurel studio, established in 2007 and known for making resin its signature material across both his painting and the studio’s collectible design. His work has been exhibited from Milan to New York and Miami, the same hand and the same finish running through the furniture and the art alike.

New available works can be viewed and acquired by private appointment.

Latest by Les Roger’s

Born in 1966 in New Jersey and based in the New York area, Rogers has spent decades investigating painting in a world saturated by media. Working primarily in oil, he paints intuitively and spontaneously, letting historical influences collide inside a deliberately destabilised picture. His images are stylistically promiscuous, pitting his love of painting’s traditions against an equal urge to throw them off balance, work he describes as “post-everything.” As he puts it, he believes in broken paintings.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Rogers has held solo shows across New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Cologne, Athens, Madrid, Bologna and Karlsruhe, with galleries including Leo Koenig, Half Gallery and Johannes Vogt in New York, Galerie Suzanne Tarasieve in Paris, and The Happy Lion in Los Angeles. His work has been reviewed in Artforum, Art in America, The New Yorker and The New York Times, and is held in collections across sixteen countries.
