Our theatre industry is unpredictable. Brutal at times. And then there are moments that remind you exactly why the people in it are so extraordinary.

This is Ally Cashmere.

When Ally woke up yesterday, she was enjoying a well earned break in Sydney. By midday, she was running to the Theatre Royal to join rehearsals for a show she would be performing in that night.

That’s right. Six hours to learn the roles and get on stage.

I took the call from the producers and, yes, I was shocked.

“Ally?”

Absolutely. I’ll make the call.

And this is the part of my job that makes me incredibly proud.

Ally Cashmere, you are pure class.

You’ve had one of the roughest introductions to our professional industry. Back to the Future closed early. Waitress closed early. Two experiences that should have been huge chapters in your career, both cut short through absolutely no fault of your own.

Then comes a call to step into a first class production and make your debut within hours. No contract. Very little clarity. Just, we need you.

And Ally said yes.

She showed up, learnt the work, supported a company that needed her and got on that stage.

That is professionalism. That is generosity. That is pure class.

People like Ally are rare. And only someone pretty magical could pull off what she did yesterday, with some wonderful people around her giving her the support and love she needed.

So the next time you’re wondering whether to see a show, see it. Buy the ticket.

The people on those stages aren’t saving lives, but they give everything they have to what they do. Sometimes with months of preparation. And sometimes, apparently, with six hours.

They deserve a full house.

And they absolutely deserve the applause. ❤️

🤍 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝟭𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 🤍

When I started ERM, it was just a dream, a whole lot of passion, and absolutely no idea how hard (or rewarding) the road ahead would be.

This industry has changed so much since day one. The way we work, the way stories are told, the way actors build their careers… it’s constantly evolving. Some of those changes have been exciting. Some have been incredibly challenging.

There have been moments of doubt, late nights, hard conversations, financial pressures, and times I’ve wondered if I had anything left to give. Running your own business can be lonely, and representing people means carrying their hopes alongside your own. It’s a privilege, but it’s never easy.

But through it all, I’ve never stopped believing in what we do.

The wins, big and small, have made every challenge worthwhile. Watching clients book their first role, seeing careers flourish, celebrating opening nights, and being trusted to walk alongside so many talented people is something I’ll never take for granted.

What I’m most proud of after 15 years isn’t just the success. It’s the people. The incredible clients who have trusted me with their careers, the casting directors, creatives and collaborators I’ve had the privilege of working with, and the friends and family who have supported me through every chapter.

To every client who has ever been part of ERM, thank you for trusting me. Your talent, resilience and passion inspire me every single day.

And to everyone who has cheered me on over these last 15 years, thank you. You have helped build something I’m incredibly proud of.

Here’s to celebrating how far we’ve come, embracing whatever comes next, and continuing to champion great talent for many years to come.

With love,

Emma xx
