Yesterday was a hectic day at the shop. We had a very interesting visit from KRIS TRUZZI a music industry stalwart from Ann Arbor, Michigan out here as tour manager for Colin Hay. Kris has among numerous other things tour managed Rickie Lee Jones, Ryan Adams, and Colin Hay; been a recording and sound engineer and also spent time at All Music. First and foremost however Kris is a big music fan and great conversationalist. To be able to share his abundant knowledge was a real pleasure. Great to catch up, we hope you enjoy your purchases and have many hours of fun reading about The Beatles tour of Australia. Safe travels and no doubt we will all catch up again. 😀👍

Here's one of the many excellent interviews the authors gave to discuss the book and the Beatles impact on the land down under.

Rod caught up with Greg Armstrong, author of thoroughly comprehensive Beatle history book When We Was Fab: Inside the Beatles Australasian Tour, to talk about the Fab Four's Magical Mystery Tour of Australia.

We have most definitely lost one of the Kings of Adelaide, and one of The major players of the Beatles Australian tour! Without Ron Tremain (using his preferred 1964 spelling), the Beatles simply would not have visited Adelaide. That’s a fact. Ron was the driving force in the Adelaide youth movement, establishing the Princeton Club and as editor of the brilliant Young Modern magazine. It was Ron’s instigation via his then father-in-law Tom Morris, who was one of the marketing men at John Martin’s, that the whole deal snowballed and it was literally Ron who negotiated the deal directly with Kenn Brodziak in Melbourne (one of the Australian tour co-promoters). The rest is history. The biggest crowd in the world stepped out to greet the Beatles on their arrival in Adelaide on Friday 12 June 1964. 300,000 Beatles fans can’t be wrong. Thank you Ron Tremain. RIP ❤️
