We are so excited to share that one of our Elancé students, Eric C, will be featured in Episode 1 of Portrait Artist of the Year! 🎨

Eric’s journey beautifully represents what we love about our adult ballet community — the courage to keep learning, exploring, and pursuing the passions that inspire us at every stage of life.

As Eric says:
“My younger self would have loved to become a painter and dancer when I grew up. Elancé gives me the opportunity to train as close as possible to a professional dancer, while the Portrait Artist of the Year competition gives me a chance to grow my career as an artist.

Putting yourself out there is hard and uncomfortable, but that is the only way to push your boundaries and see how far you can go.

Thank you to my teachers and fellow dancers who have been there for me. I appreciate you coming to my exhibitions, encouraging me, and commissioning my artwork.”

We are incredibly proud of Eric for taking this opportunity, sharing his talent, and continuing to challenge himself both in the studio and as an artist.

"Olivia Rodrigo is no stranger to ballet in her music videos, with the opening of ‘Brutal’ taking place in a dance studio with her surrounded by ballet dancers. But it was her recent video, for the single ‘Stupid Song’, that used ballet aesthetics to its full potential.

The video features choreography from ballet star Tiler Peck and dancers from the New York City Ballet, dressed in dyed-pink tutus. The video was filmed at 1.6x speed before being slowed down and, to keep the dancers’ energy up, they played heavy metal music." From Classic FM
