It's always a thrill to be part of a One Act Play Festival and always a fuzzy wuzzy feel to be awarded and recognised for contribution in one way or another.

So the 2024 One Act Play Festival season has ended unless you are heading down to Tasmania!

Congratulations again to ARK Theatre and more importantly the casts and crew of Point Blank and For Old Times Sake!

Last night at SOAP 🫧🧼 we collectively recieved three Adjudicator Awards.
Although For Old Times Sake was only presented as a non entry gala performance, For Old Times Sake still managed to receive a gong! (Something about a TV remote that didn't work was mentioned!!)
Next to step up to the podium was Grace McNiven for Best Original Script directed by Lisa McNiven and last but not least Jason Triggs for Best Actor.
Congratulations to everyone and also to the many participants at these festivals!
It has been exceptional.

It has been a wonderful season full of surprises and a lot of original scripts presented this year and an exceptionally high standard.
Sadly the general public don't subscribe to these festivals which is such a shame.

ARK Theatre will be presenting a pop-up Halloween performance at Chirnside Park
Bunnings! Stay tuned for details

Due to a late withdrawal of a play at Seymour Workshop Theatres' One Act Play Festival, ARK Theatre are presenting a gala performance of For Old Times Sake, while the adjudicator is doing their thing! Starring Alan Ashby, Kate Deavin and Jimmy Dunne this is a wonderful ensemble and a love story with a difference!
If you are footloose and fancy free wander on up to SOAP this afternoon!
The festival is between 4pm and 8pm today Saturday 14th September. You'll even be home in time for the footy!
FOTS is a multi nominated and award winning play written by Sue Ashby.
This may be the last chance to see this much loved play!
Alongside FOTS, Point Blank written by Grace McNiven is being presented as part of the festival proper starring James Banger and Jason Triggs.
Chookas to both casts!
Note: due to a generous sponsorship by the Lions Club tickets are free!

Ever wondered what it's like to put on the Celebrate Mooroolbark Festival? Here's your chance to find out!

We're looking for new members for our volunteer committee and would like to invite anyone interested to our AGM. You don't need any experience in events, just a love of your local community, and a desire to make a difference. The festival will be March 16th 2025. If the festival isn't your thing, we also have roles for the Yarra Valley Yarra Valley Wool and Handicrafts Show which will be held on March 30th, 2025.

This year we have vacancies on our committee, and also in associate 'helper' roles. Coming to the AGM will be seen as an expression of interest and we'll work with you to find something that suits. We work with your availability, skills, and with what you'd like to get out of the role. Our committee is for everyone!

If you have any questions, or are interested but can't make the AGM, you can message the page, or email [email protected] or complete this nifty form https://airtable.com/appeZGeJl1qLSdnyl/pagSVLmf1yQcssyKc/form If you've already expressed interest we'll be in touch soon!

Our Yarra Ranges Council Funding requires all festival committee members to have a valid Working With Children Check.
