So hi, Cris Zerotonin(e) here! After letting the confetti settle a bit I just wanted to thank you all for making our return to proper events so wonderful. I especially want to thank the folks who helped me run things so smoothly, our door crew Nova and Barbosa, our promoter Jess, our VJ Fyo, the other performers (Imre, Tully and Jadei), the venue manager Chloe, and Bread who pressganged himself into being our lighting designer.

Also, big ups for being the most well behaved club clientele ever. Venue runners are always so surprised that they don't have to deal with any drama and I'm like, "of course - we're zero tolerance on bad actors". But really, your enthusiasm and kind words/messages you shared with me on the night and online have been wonderful. On a personal level, the past couple of years have been a rollercoaster but I'm finding my way to be authentic and true and maintaining the best community of wonderful weirdos I could ever dream of.

We commissioned a photoshoot with the core crew members and a couple of VIPs, and it's time to share on of our badass images with some of the people that mean the most to me. Pictured is me, Barbosa, Nova, Jess, Slime, Visceroid and the WH40K Servo Skull is representing Xyberjunk who lives in Canberra.

On that note, if you've got any sweet ass photos or video, we'd love for you to share them with us :D.

I'm planning on running at least one more of these this year, probably October during the PAX weekend and as soon as we have details we'll share them with you.

MEGAHIT is a one-man synthwave project, heavily influenced by 1980s action movies, video games, and dystopian cyberpunk literature. A dancefloor-oriented audiovisual experience that combines retrofuturistic tropes with modern music production, and a touch of industrial and cinematic soundscape.

MEGAHIT started his synthwave journey in 2015. After two EPs he became a returning contributor to the Hungarian Synthwave Allstars charity compilation. In 2016 he released his first breakthrough album Days Of Violence, and managed to get featured on NewRetroWave, the biggest synthwave promotion channel on YouTube. His second album Wrath Of The Machine saw his first physical distribution on CD and cassette tapes, and was sold out in a month after release. In 2019 he released his third studio album Not Your Action Hero, which gained a great traction on streaming platforms, and was received with critical acclaim from the underground synthwave scene. His most successful track to date, Late Night Boss Fight was released by the American label FiXT Neon in 2020 as part of a cyberpunk themed compilation. In 2022 he was hired to create the official soundtrack of Without Judgement, an indie-developed open world cyberpunk video game by Wushin Software. His 2023 cyberpunk concept album Megacorp delved into sounds of techno, EBM, and post-punk, and also received critical acclaim in the synthwave scene.

ZEROTONIN(E) - (they/them)

Zerotonin(e) is the director behind Australia’s premier club brand dedicated to synthwave, cyberpunk, retro electro plus all manner of niche electronic music: Laser Highway in Naarm (Melbourne). As a labour of love, they are dedicated to providing a unique experience for music makers and fans alike.

A veteran DJ and creator for two decades playing too many genres internationally and at home in Australia, they are in love with arpeggiated basslines, warm synths, and driving drums; their style is inspired by sci-fi and horror cinema, the Lamborghini Countach, dark and epic battles, keytars, androids, power stance guitar solos, cosmic phenomena, and breathless nights that never end.

Zerotonin(e)’s influences come from far and wide through rheir musical awakening: 90s rave, industrial metal, progressive house, nuskool breaks, tech-funk, french touch, indie dance and psychedelia.

Their enormous collection encompasses mid-tempo cyber slayers, satanic dark synth, glittery future disco, italo body music, toulousian trancey techno, sensual synth funk, high energy left-field house, night driving outrun, chorus-laden retrowave vocal anthems and much more from the underground.

Babel Infoc has been mixing since 2008, granting audiences access to a display of hyperstylized neon overdrive, full of visual drama and sonic rebellion.
