We’re very pleased that ‘The Enlightenment of the Siddhartha Gautama Buddha’ has received a glowing review from Melbourne’s The Age newspaper.

We thank the reviewer for his attention and enthusiasm, and encourage you to read it, but offer this advisory: In the script, and in the production, the character that Emily Tomlins plays is at times named Tripitaka. The review, however, describes Emily’s character as ‘Buddha’. This is not accurate.

巴丢草's political artworks have "unmasked the lies of the Chinese regime, raised awareness for pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, and exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s censorship of the coronavirus pandemic."

One of the most popular and prolific political artists from China, 'Enlightenment' will feature illustrations by renowned artist and activist 巴丢草 (@badiucao ). His work has been featured by
Amnesty International, Freedom House, BBC, CNN and China Digital Times and exhibited in Australia, America and Italy.

In 2019, his first international solo exhibition in Hong Kong was cancelled due to the threats of the Chinese Government, and before the exhibition premiered, the artist's identity was compromised. Badiucao went completely silent for seven months before returning back to the public with his documentary, China's Artful Dissident. It was also here that he removed his mask, and revealed his identity for the first time.
