We are super excited to welcome the delightful and talented Hudson Emery to the cast of Just a Boy, Standing in Front of a Girl.

We put a few questions to Hudson by way of introduction and he very generously, answered them!

1. How would you describe ‘Just a Boy, Standing in Front of a Boy’?

A reinvention of an ancient text that leaves you giggling at, grieving for, and questioning the loyalty of, your so-called "lovely neighbours".

2. Is this your first experience working at fortyfivedownstairs?

Yep! I've seen a number of shows there and it's a wonderful venue so I'm very excited to be getting a chance to play in the fortyfive space!

3. What types of theatre interests you both as an artist and an audience member?

I've got a soft spot for immersive theatre, I love an interactive highly stylised world. Also anything with some fun musical moments, I'm hooked.

4. What is the best thing about working in the arts in Melbourne?

The variety of what's going on! You can hop across each suburb and always find some wacky and wonderful piece of art, distinct from the wacky wonders of the previous suburb.

5. Aside from acting, what other things do you enjoy?

I love painting. I'm horrible at it but that is why I love it. It helps me get comfortable with sharing art that is not "good" yet. Basically helps me get over myself. Music! I'll happily lose a whole day jamming out cover songs and my own half-baked masterpieces.
