We’re a small, independent, female run production company, we are so passionate about this show and sharing what it has to say to audiences! ROADBLOCKS has been performed in the Melbourne and Perth Fringe Festivals so far where we have had a big audience base of friends and family. This is the first time we are really away from our community and we would love to invite as many people as we can to join us. Only a few days until show day! We're turning our spotlight now to the stellar co-producer and star of ROADBLOCKS, Clare Regan! It is definitely a huge undertaking producing and going on the road. Clare has put her whole heart into performing it and has a hand in every aspect of this show. It really hits a nerve creating a show about the life of being an artist. See you in a few short days!..
Clare Regan is an actor, producer and one of the creators of Glass Road Productions. She has studied intensely at The Howard Fine Studio in Melbourne as well participated in Howard Fine Masterclass in LA last November. She is always trying to work on her craft and create opportunities as an independent artist. Outside of performing Clare loves the beach, traveling and watching movies.

We are moving the spotlight to our fabulous writer, Katie Lee. We are so proud to be sharing her work with the Canberra audience!...
There is something so special about working with a writer to create an original script. The process of seeing a show grow and evolve is fascinating. Katie has brought together so many ideas important to all of us. Audience members have asked if the show is autobiographical and it definitely isn't but it is so affirming to us to hear that it resonates so personally. We are so grateful to Katie for penning a play that we have all needed to see.

Katie Lee has been involved in local community and school theatre in Gippsland for over twelve years. As a writer, Katie has had short plays performed at Gemco’s Take Ten, La Mama Melbourne, Baggage Productions, ARKfest, Melbourne Writers’ Theatre, Short + Sweet Sydney and Dubai, and The Heartland Theatre Festival in Illinois, USA. In 2018 her original One Act Play ‘The Reveal’ premiered at The Butterfly Club at Melbourne Fringe Festival. In 2019, her One Act Play 'Fourplay' also premiered at The Butterfly Club.
In 2024, she wrote and co-directed the play ‘High School the NON-Musical’, which was performed at Gippsland Performing Arts Centre.
Katie is a full-time single mum to a gorgeous two year old girl, and also a VCE Media and Drama teacher in Gippsland. She divides what little free time she has between her daughter, her dog, and directing her school’s Musical Productions.

We would love to introduce our Canberra audience to our wonderful director, Zoe Nichols! We are so lucky to have Zoe's talent and sensibilities infused into ROADBLOCKS, bringing the comedy, drama and complex nuances of this show to life. We are so excited to continue to show the updated version of this show to new audiences.

Zoe is a trained singer, dancer and actor, Zoe has been lucky enough to perform all over Australia and found her love for directing while teaching kids and teens musical theatre here in Melbourne. Recently, Zoe has been seen on stage in Rent and is currently rehearsing the cabaret, Broadway Murderers.
Zoe hopes audiences will connect with the message of Roadblocks and see a piece of themself reflected back at them in Artie.

CANBERRA!

ROADBLOCKS is coming to you!!!

After a successful season with Melbourne Fringe 2024 and Perth Fringe 2025 we are excited to participate in Canberra Fringe Festival this coming November!

‘Roadblocks’ is a one-woman show, exploring the many barriers that all artists face, including writer’s block, discouraging directors, and the meagre jobs they’re forced to undertake to fund their passion

Artie is a performing artist... or at least she want to be.

But the journey is tough, fraught with uncertainty, hesitation and self-doubt. Not to mention the never-ending auditions and negative feedback, and the constant echoing of voices telling her, “you can’t do it”.

Those pressures alone would be enough, but the road to ‘success’ is long, and money is definitely tight. So Artie’s desire to pursue a career in the performing arts, has to be balanced with some sort financial earnings.

But what exciting and enthralling jobs are out there for an aspiring artiste?

Follow Artie as she work her way through call centres, restaurants, children’s birthday parties, telemarketing and drive-thrus, trying desperately to fund her creative ambitions.
