FLASHBACK - to my time with (Adventure Time, Spongebob Squarepants, Midnight Gospel) and his Classic Workshop. This whole experience literally changed the trajectory of my life and I'm forever grateful for his guidance and friendship.
"WEEK 3 - NIGHTMARE WORLD
The task this week was to conjure up a spooky world full of ooky spooky things. I didn't want to lean on old tropes that I've flogged the guts out of like skulls and monsters so I pulled back on that a went for a more whimsical, dreamlike land.
I put a lot of allusions to actual nightmares that I've had and real-life fears that I've struggled with over the years; fear of heights, fear of depth, of shadowy places, of being killed, of being alone, of being sacrificed, of confusion... all sorts of things!
I wanted to do so many things with this piece that I ultimately had to abandon my first attempt because it was a convoluted mess of ideas. Happier with this result but I'm already noticing parts that I reckon next time round I would do differently.
