By now every Australian engineer would know of JLM Audio and their amazing line of studio outboard and audio kits. JLM also make a growing range of synthesizer upgrades too. Here I've installed the JLM Perfect 5 RAM and EPROM upgrade kits for the ReV 2 and Rev 3.0 Prophets. This is one of SynthTemple's Rev 3.0 units and this kit removes the need for a backup battery and will soon allow multiple patch banks to be loaded, effectively turning a Rev 3.0 Prophet into a Rev 3.3. The kit removes all of the problems of the original 3.0 CPU board - No more old and rare 6508 RAM chips, no more 2708 multi-voltage EPROM's, no more need for a memory backup battery. And you can install it yourself!

Meet Synth Pod D - just plug your laptop in to start recording to your chosen DAW. This pod is Moog heaven, including a Memorymoog Plus, Model D, Polymoog 203a, Voyager and some keytar action with the Liberation. We paired the Moogs with the best of Sequential synths including a Prophet 5 (rev 3). Special guests include an Octave Plateau Voyetra 8, OSC OSCar, Roland V-Synth XT with vocoder and Linn LM-1 drum machine. With each synth pod having its own patchbay array, outboard effects, pre-amps, tuner, DIs, A/D and D/A, headphones, local monitors and MIDI we’ve made it super easy to get recording straight away to maximise your opportunity for exploration. Book Synth Pod D via the link in our bio. You don’t need to be a pro to book!

Fun couple of lockout days earlier in April with 8 of the crew tracking live with Cam Trewin engineering. Such a unique groove using the best of the old and new tech. We set a new studio record on these sessions for using the most vintage gear on a booking. Can’t wait to hear and watch the final product - keep an eye out for it. Enjoy some BTS shots and, for the fellow gear nerds, watch out for our next post.

Thanks for bringing your creativity, professionalism and very special groove to our studio:

What sorcery is this? How does such a tiny spring give such a huge and silky reverb sound? The EF-P2 Spring Reverb pedal by Echo Fix - Tape Echo Parts and Service has arrived at SynthTemple. Making the Linn Drum sound even more vintage! Vintage synths and pedals are made for each other, we use pedals constantly at the studio.
