Presenting the joyful work of Raichbhe Walkman (pronounced: Raive), now exhibiting in our Window Pods for your 24/7 viewing pleasure.

Raichbhe’s practice is defined by an original technique: each work begins with hot wax drawn directly onto the canvas, guided intuitively from head to hand. Layers of watercolour, acrylic, and gouache are then applied, building luminous fields of colour that radiate with a sense of joy and spaciousness.

This process forms a quiet act of resistance — an insistence on brightness in a world often shadowed by heaviness. Once the painting is complete, the wax is removed, allowing light to pass through the canvas. This gesture becomes both material and metaphor: even on the darkest days, there are openings through which light can return.

Raichbhe’s works invite viewers into these openings, offering moments of clarity, warmth, and gentle optimism. They stand as reminders that beauty can be an anchor, and that illumination — literal and emotional — can always be found.

Raichbhe has exhibited in Spain, France, and along the east coast of Australia, bringing her distinctive visual language of Australian flora, landscapes, and marine environments to an international audience.

Featuring now in the Window Pods is a magnificent exhibition by Alice Louise - an Irish abstract artist based in Melbourne.

Introduced to painting at eight by her artist mother, she developed an early sensitivity to colour and expressive form. Her background in fashion — as a stylist and designer — sharpened her instinct for composition, texture and balance, foundations that continue to inform her practice.

She works in acrylic on canvas, building layered, gestural surfaces through movement and depth. Using unconventional tools, including Furi knives, she sculpts works that carry energy and emotional resonance.

Alice has exhibited in group shows at St Kilda Library (2023), Minerva Gallery (2024) and Fortyfivedownstairs (2025).
Alice's work is rooted in intuition, movement and emotional presence.

She does not begin with predetermined concepts or fixed outcomes — instead, she enters the studio and allows the work to unfold organically, responding to what feels present in the moment. This openness gives rise to layered compositions rich in texture, depth and feeling.

Each piece is made with intention in her Brunswick studio. A quatrain poem accompanies every original work, honouring the life within the painting and inviting a deeper connection with the viewer.

Exhibiting now at the 621 Artist Space Window Pods is the wonderful Becky Boden Paints – a UK-born painter and print designer based in Melbourne.

Since 2020, she has developed a distinctive visual language that has found appreciation internationally.

Her works are held in private collections across the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States.

Boden's work explores connection, shared moments, and the quiet joys of everyday life. Food serves as a central inspiration—not merely as subject matter, but as a symbol of gathering, care, and creativity. She is drawn to the simple yet profound act of sharing a meal with those we love.

The table appears throughout her practice as a recurring motif. Boden is captivated by how this familiar setting transforms with shifting light and atmosphere, and how a single space can hold entirely different moods as day turns to evening.

We kick off the new year featuring Genevieveve Magilton in our Window Pod Exhibition as the 2025 winner of the 621 Artist Space Award for RMIT University Drawing Studio Graduates. We are delighted to support RMIT's next wave of artistic talent.

Based in Melbourne, Genevieve works primarily in oil pastel and ink. Her practice is led by her curiosity towards the environment, drawing on the natural and structural landscape which intersect in the outer city suburbs. She explores scenes of rural roads through distortion, high contrast and saturated colours.

Return Elsewhere is a series that features 6 oil pastel and acrylic on canvas works which explore the rural Australian landscape.

Drawing on the familiar, these environments are depicted as simultaneously known and unknown, distorted places of transition the viewer passes through. The dream-like setting features recurring subjects of trees and roads, prompting fear and uncertainty through the dark, cold and still scenes.

Siena Carusi is an abstract visual artist based in Melbourne/Naarm, working primarily across acrylic, watercolour, and ink. Her practice is rooted in early experiences of hearing impairment, which shaped her relationship to communication and self-expression.

For Carusi, the visual became a primary language—an instinctive space where perception, emotion, and internal reasoning could be expressed without translation. Her materially layered abstractions reflect an embodied awareness of limitation and adaptation, mapping sensation as much as form, and positioning image-making as both process and presence

The World (acrylic on canvas, each 91.5 x 122cm) is a duo of works that considers the overlapping sensations of exhilaration and fear that surface when moving beyond the known.

Carusi’s work acknowledges an internal tension between comfort and restlessness—between a need for stability and a magnetic pull toward change.

The World offers a quiet, self-directed reminder that growth need not be dramatic to be real, and that small, intentional steps can honour fear and curiosity simultaneously. These works trace the balance between refuge and expansion, and the gentle accumulation of courage required to inhabit both.

We’re currently featuring the wonderful work of Steven Joshua in the 621 Artist Space Window Pod exhibition spaces.

Steven is a Melbourne-based contemporary artist whose vibrant, textural paintings balance imagination and atmosphere. His evolving practice explores bold colour, layered textures, and playful contrasts—inviting curiosity, connection, and conversation beyond the canvas.

For Those Who Wander
Acrylic on canvas - 125 x 125cm (Framed)

This Dreamscape is painted for the eternal optimists — those who find light in every shadow and possibility in every horizon. It suggests a world where hope is ever-present, where each corner reveals a new opening, a new chance, a new beginning. The work reflects a belief that the best is yet to come, inviting viewers to rest in a vision shaped by possibility, radiance, and the unshakable spirit of optimism.

The Quiet Voice
Acrylic on canvas - 125 x 125cm (Framed)

This Dreamscape exists in the “in-between space” — not wholly a landscape, not entirely a sky, but something suspended between the two. Like the fleeting quality of a daydream, the image drifts outside the bounds of the tangible, inviting the viewer into an atmospheric vision where clouds dissolve into terrain and horizons blur into memory. It is less a depiction of place than a sensation of pause — a quiet threshold between reality and imagination.

Presenting the raw, emotive work of Mia Pignataro in the 621 Artist Space Window pods.

Mia is an emerging photographic artist, shooting exclusively on film, whose work explores fragile, fleeting moments of beauty hidden within the everyday.

Drawing inspiration from the raw intimacy of Nan Goldin, Corinne Day, and Jürgen Teller, her images document the tension between vulnerability and strength, often within spaces and relationships that feel both ordinary and extraordinary.

With a practice grounded in observation and instinct, Mia’s photographs invite viewers to slow down and notice what is usually overlooked — beauty that reveals itself only when you pause long enough to see it.

Mia says, "Play It as It Lays was created on Wurundjeri land, inside a house that feels half-forgotten — peeling paint, cracked walls, the scent of rain and old smoke still lingering. In this fractured space, I placed friends of mine, girls caught between adolescence and adulthood. They wait, they wander, they look both at home and out of place. Sometimes they appear uncertain, sometimes luminous — always suspended in that restless space between fragility and resilience. These photographs are not staged or polished; they reveal a different kind of beauty — raw, unguarded, and easily missed. I want viewers to experience the same pause I did: the recognition that even in neglected places, and in fleeting expressions, something quietly extraordinary can emerge".

Dieter Kraus is currently exhibiting his powerful work in the 621 Artist Space Window Pods.

Deluge, Earth 2.0, Sculpture Garden and Thoughts Like Rain:

Dieter Kraus’s practice spans drawing, photography and painting across a 30-year career. His work is held in private collections in Australia, North America and the UK, and draws influence from black and white photography, graffiti and his Ukrainian heritage.

His current focus—charcoal, pastel and pencil on paper—explores the psychological terrain of the inner universe and its ties to the cosmos. Inspired by “Dark Matter,” his work parallels invisible forces with emotional and subconscious experience.

He also reflects on the human-made environment, questioning how urban development and architecture alter our perception of the natural world. Through layered abstraction, his compositions evoke a quiet tension between the organic and the artificial.
