Casting Call – Sitcom Read-Through + Potential Series Roles
Our friends at Easy Killer Productions are looking for two actors to read for the lead roles in an upcoming sitcom table read. (Some secondary roles may also be available.) This is a great opportunity to get involved early in a project with serious potential.
Overview: "The Art Hole" is a chaotic, comedic drama set in a struggling Melbourne art gallery of the same name. The series revolves around its dysfunctional crew as they navigate artistic ambition, personal turmoil, and the absurdities of the contemporary art world. Each episode centers on a new exhibition, showcasing the unpredictable challenges of running the gallery and the evolving dynamics between the characters.
Patrick (Late 20s):
The gallery’s hapless curator and central figure.
A disheveled, self-indulgent "man-child" whose charisma is often overshadowed by his poor decision-making.
Struggles to reconcile his artistic aspirations with his chaotic life. His relationship with Karina is marked by unresolved romantic tension, while his relationship with his father, St. John, is a mix of admiration, exasperation, and rebellion.
Karina (Late 20s):
A sarcastic, arty "nightmare hippie" with a talent for cutting through Patrick’s nonsense.
She’s Patrick’s ex and a major source of tension, though her tough love often keeps him grounded.
Unafraid to challenge St. John and Bradley, Karina proves to be the pragmatic one in the group, even while embracing her wild side.
What we need from you:
Strong comedic timing
Ability to bring characters to life off the page
Reliable and easy to collaborate with
This read could lead to further involvement when the show goes into production.
