The numbers are heavy. The story is necessary. 🏳️‍⚧️🇦🇺🇵🇭

Nearly 9 in 10 LGBTQ+ young Australians report harassment, bullying, or violence linked to their identity [Source: Minus18].

At the same time, surveys show around one-in-three migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds experience discrimination that undermines their sense of belonging [Source: Scanlon Foundation].

These lived realities contribute to psychological stress that data alone can’t fully capture, but stories can.

MR BIG dives into the “conditional acceptance” often faced by Trans people of colour, where love is sometimes tied to economic duty, not authentic identity. It explores the things we can’t quantify: the isolation, the family guilt, and the resilience required to keep singing.
Research confirms that shared storytelling fosters the connection we need to survive [Source: VicHealth]. MR BIG brings those stories into the room where we can confront, feel, and transform them together.

Grabe. What a year, mga kaibigan. 🔥✨

Kung may natutunan man tayo this 2025, it’s that chaos and community go hand in hand and honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.

We took our stories of trans joy, messy love, and neo-Filipino identity across the country this year. Bitbit ang maleta (and way too many costumes), we hit the road ready to serve.

Ang resibo?
🎭 2 Seasons 🎬 2 Shows (Chasing Dick & 6 Guys)
🏙️ 2 Cities (Naarm & Gadigal)
🤝 30+ Artist Collaborations
🎤 Numerous Panels & Speaker Gigs (We love the sound of our own voice char!)

From the loading docks of Sydney to the stages of Melbourne, we told stories that needed to be told loudly, proudly, and with that distinct TayoTayo unhinged energy. Walang preno, puro puso.

And guess what? Narinig tayo ng industry! We’re wrapping up the year with our hearts full and our trophy shelf medyo mabigat na:
🏆 1 Award 🎖️ 3 Nominations
🌟 1 Finalist Position

Maraming salamat to every single one of you who bought a ticket, shared a post, or just screamed with us in the front row. TayoTayo exists because of you. We are building this space together, one show (and one breakdown) at a time. Laban lang!

Kain muna, rest up, and hydrate. We’ve got big dreams (and big pasabog) for 2026. We will hit the ground running at Midsumma Festival for the first public staged reading of our brand new work, MR BIG aka tatay a transwoman and that tiring tune!

Ingat kayo,
TayoTayo Collective xx
