Our second event for 2021: Mindy Meng Wang + Monica Lim + Anita Quayle + Mobius Travels at The Little Ath, Saturday 9th January.

Mindy Meng Wang is a talented and versatile Chinese/Australian performer exploring the fertile space between traditional and contemporary practice. Mindy blends Guzheng with a range of western genres — Jazz, Electronic, experiemental, and improvisation — to produce a unique, pioneering sound that is set to redefine musical tradition. Fresh off a brand new TedX performance in Sydney, we look forward to joining Mindy for an evening of rich, cross-cultural music in the heart of Melbourne.

Joining Mindy on stage is Monica Lim, a Melbourne-based pianist and composer of classical and experimental music. Working at the intersection of music and technology, Mindy has presented her work at some of the city's best-known events such as White Night and Melbourne Fringe as well as an art-science collaboration, Mental Dance, with cognitive neuroscience at the University of Melbourne.

Completing our repertoire of brilliant performers is Anita Quayle, a contemporary freelance cellist and composer who also composes music for short film and theatre. Anita has worked with the likes of Pete Murray, The Waifs, and Russell Morris.

Continue the new year with an evening of eclectic sounds in the unique setting of the Athenaeum Theatre on Saturday 9th January.
