📍What's the purpose of earning the law degree?🇵🇬
Year after year, lawyers are produced at UPNG. But the real unanswered question is, are they actually defending the constitution, the country and the welfare of the citizens? In hard reality, this is totally opposite. Corruption was and is eating away PNG right through the core from the top to the bottom and in between. 50 years on and need to do something different in the next 50 years and beyond, can't repeat the same mistake over and over and expecting the different result. This is hypocrisy and ignorance!

When political influence seeps into organisations like PNG Power Ltd, Air Niugini, and Mineral Resources Development Company, it doesn’t just disrupt management—it steals from the people😞. These entities exist to deliver electricity, transport, and resource benefits, yet🫥 interference, favoritism, and hidden deals can drain resources and weaken services.🥲 The result is felt by ordinary citizens: power outages, unreliable travel, and lost🥹 opportunities from wealth that should belong to communities.
It’s frustrating and painful because it feels like betrayal—leaders entrusted with responsibility instead feeding a system of greed and control.😭😭 Corruption persists due to weak oversight, political patronage, and the enormous money tied to natural resources, creating temptation and normalization of unethical behavior. But beneath the anger is a strong desire for fairness and accountability; many Papua New Guineans see🤗 clearly what’s being lost and continue to demand change, even when the system feels stacked against them.
