In the decades prior to the mid-1970s it was common for unwed mothers to be coerced into giving their babies up for adoption, peaking at almost 10,000 adoptions in 1971-72. Melbourne's Karen Ingram Author was one of those babies, and her new book Lifting the Lid is a gripping and heartfelt tale about her search for identity and her ancestry. Listen in to PBS 106.7FM Melbourne brekky tomorrow at 7am for Annika's chat with her.
