I played earlier in the evening from 5-6pm and threw down a selection of prog and deep house.

As a bit of a throwback to celebrate the 10th Birthday of one of my favourite local crews, I delved deep into the archives and played tunes predominantly from or around 2016, with a couple of exceptions.

I'm back with new music!

Still on the trip-hop tip, coming in hot with James K's most recent album, the modestly titled 'Friend'.

This bad boy dropped late last year, and it's been on repeat ever since.

It feels less like an album and more like a physical place you disappear into for one hour and one minute to escape reality. A warm, impossibly immersive haze that blurs ambient pop and trip-hop into something weightless and emotional.

What stands out the most is how it manages to so effortlessly balance dreamy pop sensibilities with an experimental edge. It's hypnotic and truly stunning from front to back.

Standout tunes: Blinkmoth (July Mix) and Doom Bikini.

Its ya boy J-Slyde here with some new music to share!

I've been on a heavy trip-hop tip over the past few weeks and have discovered some absolute gems along the way, so I thought it was only fair to share the gold.

Today we have Stone's debut album, Dream Curtain Eternally Gentle.

A delightful slice of moody 90s-esque, slow-burning boom-bappy beats that meander through downtempo and trip-hop textures across 9 delightful tunes. The only downside to this beautiful album is that its run time is a shy 45 minutes in length. Stone clearly opting for quality over quantity here... and I'm totally okay with that.

Simon Murphy's Rainbow Spirit Festival set is now live over on breathe.!

This was a very, very special set, closing out the entire festival. Whilst it wasn't the traditional "Mad Monday" set, it was full of magical moments and the perfect way to bookend the long weekend.
