When performance carries the narrative, the camera has to listen.

From the beginning, the visual language of PUNCHED has been built around performance, restraint and the things left unsaid.

Bringing that to the screen meant creating space for the performance to lead, while every choice behind the camera served the emotional world of the story.

Stories aren’t only told through dialogue.

Sometimes they’re told through the things left on a table.

Every object in PUNCHED was chosen with care. Long before the camera rolled, conversations began about what a character keeps, what they reach for without thinking, and what those details quietly reveal.

These are the conversations that happen behind the scenes long before an audience ever sees a frame. It’s often the smallest details that help shape a character and the world they inhabit.

Great performances don’t happen by accident. They come from trust, preparation and collaboration.

As a producer, one of the most rewarding parts of making PUNCHED has been watching director Richard Cawthorne create an environment where performance could truly lead.

From our earliest conversations, Richard had a clear vision: create the space for performance to lead, and let the camera listen.

Working closely with Ryan Moloney and our talented crew, he fostered an environment where every creative decision served the emotional truth of the story, bringing Kerry Drumm’s powerful monologue to the screen with care and sensitivity.

PUNCHED is now in post-production, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.

Post-production is underway on PUNCHED.

One of the most rewarding parts of filmmaking is seeing everything begin to come together in the edit. The performances, cinematography, sound and rhythm all start finding their place.

We’re currently shaping PUNCHED, our intimate, performance-led short film adapted from Kerry Drumm’s powerful stage monologue.

Written by Kerry Drumm.
Directed by Richard Cawthorne
Starring Ryan Moloney.
