Growth - Under The Under
Recorded, Mixed & Mastered here at Underland.

A record I’m very proud of writing as a musician, but also from a producer and engineering perspective. I spent a lot of time exploring different tonal options across all of the instrumentation at their sources to capture genuine weight and immediacy. I took my time experimenting with numerous drum tunings to capture a natural drum sound, with an emphasis on not ignoring the cymbal picture and the nuances the hands play in to this drumming style. Balancing an aggressively forward mix with a clear stereo image was crucial for such dense material to translate and immerse the listener in to the chaos.

I had great time working alongside Roswell Deathsquad on their debut album ‘Welcome Home’. A lot of of hard work and passion went in to this release, so please go check out the album, give the band a follow and make sure you catch them at a show soon!

WELCOME HOME is out now on all major streaming services!

With this release we set out to create something different.
Using a blend of progressive death metal and heavy deathcore elements 'Welcome Home' tells the story of human hubris in the face of other worldly aggression inspired by the dark, dystopian realms of classic sci-fi.

Underland is now setup and ready to go for your next drum recording! The final stage of the build is complete in this one room recording space. The room captures a tight and balanced sound suitable for a range of heavier musical styles with a controllable level of room ambience.

Centred around an SSL Origin console and also featuring an extensive mic list - Myburgh, Coles, Telefunken, Sennheiser, Heil, Neumann, AEA, Royer, Shure, Beyer, Rode, Audio Technica, Audix, Scopelabs.

I’m available for recording, mixing & mastering.
