I am always pleased to be asked to play the bagpipes at a funeral . I am sensitive while talking to the person of the bereaved. I go through the format of the service , and help them with some tune selections. I always arrive early, and often play as the family and friends arrive at the chapel or church. I offer to walk down playing at the start as the funeral directors walk down and bow to the ca
sket. I pipe out at the end of the service, play later to to the casket before the door of the hearse is closed. Then , I walk to the front of the hearse, and lead off the hearse. I play as the guests arrive. I then offer to pipe the bride down the aisle. After the wedding service, I pipe the bride and groom out with a stirring well known Scottish tune. Later ,at the reception, I offer to pipe the bride and groom, and even the wedding party prior to their wedding party table. At birthday parties , I can play Happy Birthday at the appropriate time, as well as many other well known stirring tunes. I am also happy to play at Auctions, and many other special occasions. Tunes include : Funerals : My Home, Amazing Grace, Highland Cathedral, Skye Boat Song, Flower of Scotland, Going Home, Sao Gan. Piping off the hearse, with the Green Hills of Tyrol. Other Functions I can include: Scotland the Brave, Green Hills of Tyrol, Bonnie Dundee, A Hundred Pipers, and many more other tunes.
