1. Known as Melbourne’s equivalent of Japan’s Pokémon Centre, Critical Hit will be popping in to bring you a selection of official Pokémon merch 🌸

2. Explore an assortment of official Pokémon trading cards brought to you by PG collectables! Try your hand at a lucky pull, or bring some cards to trade with other players 🔥

“The concert is designed with a real passion for Pokémon. We wanted to see more Pokémon events around town, so we thought we’d make it happen ourselves!” ✨

When planning Super Effective!, Danna envisioned a fun opportunity for Pokémon fans to gather as a local community and celebrate their love for the games. With a stunning live performance set against the backdrop of the crisp Melbourne city, Super Effective! isn’t an ordinary concert where you sit still in your seat… enjoy browsing artist booths (TBA), vibing in your Pokémon cosplay, and sharing your thoughts on the upcoming releases with likeminded fans! 🌸

Danna currently has been absorbed in the Generation 8 games on Switch, keeps up with the anime, and plays Pokémon Unite daily as a chef Mr Mime called Gordon Ramsay.

Pokémon is a big part of her life – that’s why as Super Effective!’s co-Artistic Director, Danna is incredibly excited to bring you a live concert experience of Pokémon’s stories throughout the years!

“Super Effective!’s program is designed to take you on a journey through the history and regions of Pokémon – it’s our own musical Pokémon adventure.” 🌱☀️

Envisioned by Toby, Super Effective! invites you to relive the unforgettable moments and places in every generation of the Pokémon games as reimagined by talented Australian VGM arrangers. Being a VGM arranger himself by the name Winged Souls, Toby is most excited about the quality and variety of the arrangements commissioned uniquely for the concert. Starring an all-Melbourne ensemble, Super Effective welcomes you back to the world of Pokémon through the artistry and creativity of masterful musicians, united by their love for video game music.

Toby shares many fond memories with Pokémon and wishes to encapsulate that energy and nostalgia into the program. He recalls writing out instructions on cloning Pokémon and items in Pokémon Emerald’s Battle Frontier to share them with friends in primary school, and holds a soft spot for Emerald for its adventurous features (Secret bases? TWO bikes?!) and its champion battle theme.

From the kid to started out with Squirtle in LeafGreen to Super Effective!’s co-Artistic Director 18 years later, Toby is psyched up to dive, fly and surf back through the world of Pokémon with you! ⚡

We’re opening a SECOND Super Effective! concert during the day, perfect for your fun weekend adventure 💖

A lot of you have reached out about this, and we’re here to make it happen. There are now TWO Pokémon concerts on the same day: ☀️ 2PM and 🌛 7PM ⭐
