FLAGs (or Free Little Art Galleries) are project initiated by Hobsons Bay Arts Society thanks to the Hobson’s Bay City Council Reconnection Grants Program. A first in Victoria, members from Hobsons Bay Arts Society, Hobson’s Bay Mens Shed and community volunteers have worked together to provide publicly accessible mini art galleries in 14 sites around the Hobson’s Bay Area in Melbourne.
FLAGs provide an opportunity for everyone, despite your artistic ability to ‘Take art, Make art, Give art’.
You can find the FLAGs at Hobsons Bay Libraries, Laverton Community Hub, Vietnamese Association in Hobsons Bay Inc, Trinity Church Altona, Woods Street Arts Space,Walker Close Community Centre, Seabrook Community Centre, Mambourin Altona Adult Day Care Centre, U3A Altona, Truganina Explosives Reserve and Louis Joel Arts and Community Centre!
So if you come across a FLAG, stop awhile, examine what others have made, take one that you like, make something to replace what you took so the next person can do the same!
Have fun and thank you for stopping by!
