It’s so great to make music together again! Cello and voices are the perfect pairing. At the start of last year we performed together It Lights The Whole Sky at the NGV Triennial. We can’t wait to see you all at our show on Friday. A handful of tickets left to each show.

Opened in 2004, the Academic Centre was created as a shared intellectual hub linking the two colleges through a single spine of study, light and circulation. Its design references the geometry of the Newman quadrangle while introducing new materials and sightlines that open the building to its gardens and courtyards. A purpose-built space for learning and community, it now hosts Out of the Deep with Alchemy and Josh Dema.

Australian cellist Joshua Dema brings together international training and a love of collaboration. Melbourne-born and Chicago-trained, he completed his Master of Music at DePaul University and holds the LMusA with distinction. Joshua performs with Orchestra Victoria, Trio Conté and the Melbourne Cello Octet, and has appeared at venues including Hamer Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre and NGV, as well as festivals such as AFCM and MIMIR. His mentors include Brant Taylor, Zoe Knighton and Howard Penny. Outside music, Joshua also works as a UX Researcher in Naarm (Melbourne).
