GROWING PAINS TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT ONE!!! ��It was not easy creating this show…
Reliving these experiences to tell them first-person on stage has had me in tears — sad ones, happy ones, and plenty of fits of laughter.
For a long time, I shrugged off people who suggested I write a book. It felt self-indulgent. But then hearing Hugh van Cuylenburg talk about being called selfish for not writing his made me think twice…
Maybe sharing your story isn’t about you at all. Maybe it’s there to inspire — or at the very least, entertain.
I can’t write a book just yet… so I’ve created a storytelling theatre show instead. And it’s all in there…
Music as therapy.
My deep love of performing that carried me through leukemia.
Out-of-this-world moments playing with my idols — B.B. King, Diesel, Jimmy, Tommy, MJ, Bonnie Raitt…
The backlash from my own community for being good at something.
The collapse… and the long road back to finding myself again.
I’ll tell you what though… telling a story like this — even with the songs woven through it — has me feeling bloody vulnerable.
I’m nervous as hell… but that’s okay, right?
