Good day campers. Here is a wee quiz to keep you occupied over the holiday weekend. (yes i know every day is a holiday for some just now). You have to gues the names of areas in Glasgow from the clues I have given you here. You are allowed to use a map if you need to. Happy Easter one and all. Good morning my fellow isolators from your friendly virtual redcoat. Unfortunatley I have posted q whole raft of info to you all and it has disappeared into the ether. Goodness knows what I am doing wrong but I am nothing if not stubborn so we will plod away.
Right down to the subject in hand. As I said before I am here to give you some advice and leads on games and activities that can keep you and yours entertained and amused during the duration of the lockdown. I aim to help everyone on this page not just the elderly. There are a whole raft of activities out there and I aim to post hyper links every day for you to access for online games and keeping in touch. There is not a jigsaw to be had in the land so maybe get into the loft or the back of the cupboard and dig them out to share. Sure you have loads of old board games too. Then there are old fashioned card games like Chinees Patience and Newmarket etc. Rules can be found on line or I can furnish you with them. Me might even be reduced to Spin the Bottle, Noughts and Crosses and Hangman. Remember them.?
The number of online games are endless and free. There are online board games like Othello, Draughts , Chess and Scrabble etc. There are also very simple little computer games that can be played on your phone, tablet, laptop or computer. I would be happy to help anyone who is stuck with technical problems

Put that in your browser and it will take you to the rules page and download. The other game today is SCRABBLE. Go into your browser and check for Classic Words with Friends and download. You can play this on your own or with numerous friends. Both games are free. Enjoy and stay safe. Speak to you all tomorrow hopefully.

Hi everyone. My name is Kate Murray and I am going to be your virtual Redcoat for the duration of the lockdown. The idea is to recommend pastimes, games and activiies for those who are isolated. All suggestions and links will be free. Wee will cover on line board games such as scrabble, Othello, Chess, Daughts etc. and more complicated animated games, When not online. Look in the back of cupboards for your old board games, jigsaws andTwister etc. It goes on long enought we may have to resort to Noughts and Crosses, Hangman and Spin the Bottle.There are no jigsaws available to buy on line so maybe we could see about swapping them safely.Look out old phots and scan them and organise them. Tidy up your computer. Get all your precious docs and photos backed up and saved to Cloud, Dropbox and Google Photos etc.Learn new skills with your phones. How to download apps. play music through bluetooth speakers etc.. The range of wha tis availabel is endless and i am more than happy to give any support or advice needed.Todays two games are online Scrabble. Download and find someone you want to play with. You download Classic Words with Friends. Its all self explanatory. The other on line game is Othello. Go to eothello.com on your browser to download and it will show you the rules. Enjoy yourselves my friends. Any problems just shout.
