LOCAL TALENT TAKES THE STAGE!

Marysville Music Weekend is all about music, community and supporting the region, and this year we’re excited to shine a light on three emerging local artists.

Tayla Anne
Tahlee Christie
Brock Edwards

Three young artists, three different musical journeys, and three local voices bringing something special to the 2026 festival.

Supporting local musicians has always been an important part of Marysville Music Weekend. Alongside our incredible Australian lineup, we want to give regional artists the opportunity to perform, connect with audiences and build their musical journeys.

And we couldn’t do it without the incredible support behind the festival, our local sponsors, businesses, volunteers, venues and supporters, together with Triangle Arts Group, Murrindindi Shire Council, Peppers Marysville, Camp Marysville, MiRa Cindy McLeish and UGFM.

Made here. Supported here. Shared with everyone. ❤️

There’s a wild, earthy edge to Hazel & The Thief — where Australian storytelling, folk, country and a little bit of rock come together in something entirely their own.

At the heart of it all is Hazel’s enigmatic voice, Celtic influences and distinctly Australian storytelling. Her songs are full of characters, landscapes and stories that pull you into another place.

And this is an artist who knows how to bring those songs to life.

Hazel & The Thief’s debut album hit No. 1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album charts, while six singles have reached the Top 10 on Australian country music airplay charts.

As F***y Lumsden put it: “She’s just incredible.”

We couldn’t agree more.

Come discover Hazel & The Thief when Marysville fills with music this November.

James Howlett's songs often begin as frantic journal entries before finding their way onto a guitar.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Crowded House and The Beatles, James writes songs that are thoughtful, melodic and deeply human. On stage, he brings them to life with an easy-going charm, dry humour and the stories of someone who has spent years making music across Melbourne and country Victoria.

We’re looking forward to welcoming James to Marysville Music Weekend this November.

Ange Boxall is an award-winning Tasmanian singer-songwriter brings together Country, Folk and Pop, with the spirit of the great female singer-songwriters of the 1970s woven through her music. Her songs are rich with vivid imagery, heartfelt stories and a deep connection to the landscapes and lives that inspire them.

Ange’s album Skipping Stone debuted at #1 on the ARIA Charts, and her musical journey has taken her across Australia, the UK, Europe and the USA. Along the way, she’s shared the studio and stage with artists including J.D. Souther, Grammy Award-winner Jim Lauderdale and Bones Hillman.

Now living on Tasmania’s East Coast, Ange draws inspiration from the island’s wild beauty and complex cultural landscape, she will be bringing those stories and sounds with her to Marysville.

We can’t wait to welcome Ange to the hills for a weekend of great music, good company and plenty of stories.

BLUES ROULETTE IS COMING TO MARYSVILLE!

Get ready to take a spin with Blues Roulette feat. Iseula & Jesse Valach

There are no rehearsed setlists. No safety nets. Just Australia’s finest blues talent, a killer rhythm section and the thrill of not knowing exactly what’s going to happen next. Anything can happen when the wheel starts spinning.

Jesse Valach makes a triumphant return to the stage. After a life-changing stroke in 2021, Melbourne’s fiery singer and lead guitarist is back doing what he does best — making music. With his powerful voice, soulful guitar playing and a new release, Stroke of Luck, Jesse is proving that the show is far from over.

Joining him is powerhouse vocalist and songwriter Iseula, the driving force behind Blue Eyes Cry, bringing incredible vocal range, raw blues intensity and deeply evocative songwriting to the Roulette stage.

Put them together with the formidable Blues Roulette rhythm section and you’ve got a one-night-only musical gamble you won’t want to miss.

🎲 You never know what’s going to happen.
You just know it’s going to be good.

There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when music finds its way into the hills.

Among the trees, along the streets and tucked into the corners of Marysville, we’ll be sharing music, stories and good times all weekend long and Pirritu will be bringing their own unique sound to the mix.

Pirritu’s music is a gentle, honest, and melodic personal journey that entices
you into the depths of sadness, love, and shimmering hope.

With two album releases under his belt, The songman’s work honours a cultural
journey to connect back to land, language, and family with a continual thirst for
deeper understanding of his people and country.

Pirritu’s music features folk instrumentation weaving amongst his unique vocals
like the gentle wind and waters that the Ngiyampaa man sings of.

And that’s exactly the kind of music we love bringing to Marysville Music Weekend.

Great music. Beautiful places. Good people. And a whole weekend to get lost in it.

Come wander the streets, find a stage and discover Pirritu.
