Pimp My Plumage has now come to an end.
This year’s exhibition was judged entirely by public vote and the results are in.

1st — Lachlan Woods Lachlan Woods for Stormfeather $300
2nd — Lisa Draper Lisa Draper Hall for Baron of the Beachcombers $200
3rd — Ligi Pinewood Ligy Pinedwood for Duality and Temperance $100

Congratulations to our winners, and heartfelt thanks to every artist who took the time to create a bird and bring this colourful flock to life.

A huge thank you to BirdLife Southern Queensland for their generous support towards prize money, Carlton Hotel for their donation which made exhibiting them possible and to Gatakers Artspace for hosting and displaying the exhibition so beautifully.

I will be picking up the birds today so please collect them between Wednesday and Saturday this week.

Whispers of Willow Blue, a challenging collage session with great results!

A good art challenge is like a spark to the brain, it shakes you out of your comfort zone and gets the creative gears whirring and nudges you somewhere new.
SEVEN is coming, and you’ve got until 5 November to make something brilliant. 2 works max. $5 entry fee.

Choose one of the seven sins and twist it into something unexpected, reinterpret it through your own lens: humour, minimalism, personal story, colour driven exploration — let it surprise you.
Anything goes, you can paint, draw, collage, submit photography, knit a jumper, make a ceramic bowl, forge a metal sculpture ....but...NO AI Art.

Opening night there will be 7 Sins walking around with colour coded sticky notes, ready for you to divulge something you feel guilty about. They will go on the wall anonymously as an interactive part of the exhibition so start thinking about your confessions and make them juicy!

Colour symbolism:

(Wrath: Red — Represents blood, fire, war, and intense, explosive anger.Greed (Avarice): Yellow or Gold — Symbolizes wealth, gold coins, and material hoarding. Envy: Green — Rooted in the classic expression "green with envy" and historical ideas linking jealousy to bodily bile. Pride: Purple or Violet — Historically tied to royalty, high status, and the conceit of placing oneself "above all". Gluttony: Orange — Associated with overabundance, rich foods, and energetic excess. Lust: Pink or Blue — Pink/red denotes passion and desire, while lighter blue is sometimes used in allegorical art for sensuality or distinct modern palettes. Sloth: Light Blue or Gray — Light blue or gray-blue represents lethargy, tranquility, drowsiness, or a passive, sluggish state)
