Happy 11th Anniversary to our dear Le Petit Bateau Art Collective (the little boat)
It’s hard to believe that today marks 11 years since I started Le Petit Bateau art collective here in Sydney. What began in a little backyard in Bondi with a simple idea "sharing our culture is the beginning of creativity" (said with very "creative" English, I might add) has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. And wow, what a journey it’s been!
Over the years, we’ve achieved so much together. Twice award-winning Best Float Design at the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, countless art shows, fundraisers, exhibitions, and festivals that have brought so many beautiful people together. From intimate performances to big, bold celebrations, every event has been an opportunity to come together, create, and share.
But the true magic of Le Petit Bateau lies in the community we’ve built. It’s the shared experiences, the collaborations, the open doors, and the creative sparks that fly when different cultures, ideas, and voices come together.
So, as I look back on 11 years of growth, creativity, and love, I want to thank everyone who has made this journey possible—whether you’ve been here from day one, or you’ve just joined us recently. You are the heart of this collective.
When I first opened the doors, I didn’t know exactly where the journey would take us, but I knew one thing: I wanted to create a space where people could come together, share stories, and create, no matter who they were or where they came from. 11 years later, that’s exactly what we’ve built: a vibrant, ever-evolving community of artists, performers, chefs, makers, dreamers, and doers from all over the world.
It’s not just about the art we’ve created, though. It’s about the connections, the conversations, the meals shared, the workshops held, the laughter that fills the air, and the love that binds us all together. What I’ve learned through this collective is that creativity thrives when people come together, when we let go of boundaries, and when we embrace each other’s cultures and experiences.
So here’s to 11 years of community, collaboration, and countless moments of magic. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. You’ve made Le Petit Bateau what it is today—and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
Here’s to many more years of creating together. 💙
