"THE TALLER THEY COME" IS IN THE CAN! On Thursday, we finished the final Kumasi shot for our strange, mutant Ozploitation/Ghanaian kung fu film. To say the experience has been life-changing doesn't come close - hell, I even got my star Gideon tattooed on my arm (see photo) and put THAT in the film! - but when I add up the past four weeks in my sun-addled head, it's huge: myself, fellow Aussies Kristen Condon and Kiefer Findlow, and the local cast and crew (led by the intrepid and always-smiling Ninja, aka Samuel K. Nkansah) have pulled off a micro-budget feature complete with massive action scenes and visual effects IN AFRICA that came in on schedule, on budget, and with zero headaches. AND what we have managed to capture is an utterly unique and, I'm convinced of it, entertaining feature that will take all of us to even stranger places. It took a special team to build this barn, and I couldn't be happier with the result. I'll miss all of you Kumasi cats when I head back to Oz on Saturday... but I'll be getting THE TALLER THEY COME ready to unleash upon an unsuspecting film world...
