THE MIGHTY GOLD KEBAB by Nicky Lefebvre
So returns our bovine beauty,
The queen of our small town,
Soon to be resurrected,
After months of being down.
We’ve missed her golden glow
Gleaming high above the grass,
Majestic on her metal prong
The sun shining off her arse.
Locals keep on asking,
‘When will the cow return?’
Tourists wonder ‘what’s the fuss’?
But how quickly they will learn.
The Main Street herd has missed its queen,
The cows frozen in grief,
The town’s just not the same, you see,
Without it’s sky-high beef.
Oh, the mighty gold kebab,
Our beloved steak divine,
What better way to toast her,
Than with a local Cowie wine.
She’s sparkly, fresh and shiny,
Her visage somewhat newer,
So welcome home, our golden girl,
Cowaramup’s favourite skewer.
