CREATIVES from across the South West gathered in Dunsborough to celebrate the launch of the new South West Creative Directory and refreshed Creative Corner website.

Around 100 people attended the launch at Bungalow Neighbourhood Social, where four local practitioners shared their experiences of building creative careers in the region as part of the Four on the Floor speaker series.

Speakers included producer Brooke Thomas, YouTuber Ben Lindberg of The Clay Mason, Syde Studio’s Eloise Williams and musician Mitch Baker.

Creative Corner manager Anita Pettit said the turnout showed strong demand for a platform connecting the region’s creative community.

“The turnout on the night said everything about how ready this region was for something like the Creative Directory,” she said.

The free online directory is designed to help photographers, designers, filmmakers, artists, musicians and other creatives be discovered by businesses, organisations and government agencies looking for their skills.

“Getting listed is completely free, and it takes just a few minutes,” Ms Pettit said.

The directory will continue to grow in coming months, while paid Creative Corner membership is also available for those wanting access to events, workshops and other benefits.

The project was supported by the City of Busselton, South West Development Commission, Creative Tech Village and Rio Tinto, with development support from The Box and EUSO Digital.

The South West’s creative scene has been building for years - now it’s time to put it on the map.

Join us on Thursday 27 August at Bungalow Social as we bring together designers, filmmakers, musicians, writers, photographers and every other creative discipline the region has to offer for the launch of the South West Creative Directory - a first-of-its-kind resource connecting local talent with the people looking for it.

We will also be presenting another edition of Four on the Floor - four creative thinkers for unscripted open conversation. Just good thinking and honest stories that only happen when interesting people share the same floor. What follows is an open conversation about creativity, process, failure, success, the messy business of making ideas real and everything in between.

Expect good conversation, great food and a room full of the people actually making things happen in the South West creative industry.

Four on the Floor recently made its debut at Riversmith and it was a cracker of an evening.
