🍺 Got a homebrew, blue-ribbon sponge or broken surfboard hiding in the shed?
The much-loved Exhibition Hall competitions are back for the 2026 Margaret River Ag Show — and this year there are even more ways to get involved.
For the first time, local backyard brewers and beverage makers can enter their creations, with new classes for b**r, kombucha, tea blends and tinctures to be judged by Iliya Hastings and the Margaret River Brewing Co team.
They join all the favourites — baking, preserves, homegrown produce, gardening, photography, arts and crafts — after more than 1,500 entries filled the hall last year.
And there’s a very Margs-spirited addition to the art section too: a new category challenging locals to turn old or broken surfboards into works of art.
Exhibition Hall Coordinator Janine Carter said it was a chance to combine the region’s surfing culture with a little creativity and sustainability.
“What better way to make use of a broken board than by transforming it into a work of art to display at the Show and then enjoy in your garden or games room?” she said.
Whether you’re a serious maker, enthusiastic gardener, weekend baker or just reckon your latest creation deserves a crack at a ribbon, entries are now open online.
