Fun fact… I name my paintings after what was on my mind when I painted them. What you see is probably nothing like what I saw when I was inspired to create it.
But I do love to hear your thoughts and interpretations.

Red Hill, York, Balladong Country

A place I grew up spending so much time, close to my heart. The place my ancestors and family farmed sheep and wheat for 6 generations before me. My childhood playground with my siblings and cousins. A wonderland of exploring old family homes, gullies and a waterfall.

I respect that this has always been and always will be Balladong Country.

I just finished this one in time for Christmas, it’s a gift for a very special family member.

Years ago, I bought a painting from a very special friend, Monica . It was a painting of her twin sister Silvia’s pregnant belly (an equally wonderful friend, and both are Jarrah’s Godmums 💛💛).
It was time for a change on my walls after enjoying the painting for many years. I offered Monica the painting back, but she said “Nah just paint over it Neese”.
I decided to keep the general shape of the original painting, but turn it into an abstract landscape of Gracetown Beach, where Monica and I met up together earlier this year.
I’ve included the original painting in the photos ☺️
