When we think of an outdoor education activity like the Leap of Faith, we often picture it as a solo challenge—one person climbing the pole and leaping from the top to touch a ball suspended in mid‑air.
But there’s so much more to it. The climb itself is challenging, and standing on top takes courage. On the ground below, fellow campers and Outdoor Education Instructors are there every step of the way—offering encouragement, cheering loudly, and ensuring everyone feels supported and safe.

Why the Cooler Months Are Made for Connection, Growth, and Purpose.

Winter weekend camps in Queensland are an opportunity that many groups leave on the table. When planned intentionally, the cooler months offer ideal conditions for camps that go deeper — less noise, fewer competing commitments, and a pace that naturally supports reflection, relationship, and learning.

What a wonderful evening to look forward to! 🎉

QCCC Mapleton is thrilled to be hosting the Blackall Range Chaplaincy Fundraising Dinner on Friday 29 May, 2026 — and what a night it promises to be. Three courses, great entertainment, a silent auction featuring local artisan products, and the very best kind of company.

Every ticket supports the chaplaincy service at Mapleton and Maleny primary schools — a cause that makes a real difference in the lives of local kids and families.

Tickets are $75 per person. To book your seat, reach out to Chris or Vicki at [email protected] or [email protected] and they'll send through payment details.

Don't miss it — grab your seat before they're gone! 🎈✨

🚀 Activity of the Week: GLOW ROCKETS ✨

You may have heard of our Bottle Rockets—the classic daytime challenge where teams design, build and launch rockets using 2‑litre bottles and creative materials ☀️

Glow Rockets take that same hands‑on, teamwork‑focused activity and turn it up a notch… at night 🌙

By adding glow sticks for decoration and visibility, teams can watch their rockets light up the sky and track them through the air after launch. The result? An unforgettable evening experience packed with creativity, ingenuity, problem‑solving and collaboration.

Same great rocket challenge!
A whole new after‑dark twist.

Who’s ready for launch? 🚀💥

Did you know winter weekends are one of the BEST times for group camps in Southeast Queensland?

Clear skies, crisp days, and cosy nights create the perfect setting for connection, reflection, and shared experiences. And nothing brings a group together quite like a roaring campfire. 🔥

Here are 5 reasons winter weekends are ideal for group camps:
✅ Reliable, Comfortable Weather
Winter means dry conditions, low humidity, and mild daytime temperatures—ideal for group activities, outdoor games, hikes, and workshops without the heat or storms. 🏕️

✅ Perfect for Weekend Getaways
A winter weekend is long enough to connect without needing extended time away. Arrive Friday, reset together, and head home Sunday feeling refreshed and recharged. ⛺

✅ Space to Connect Without Distractions
With fewer crowds in winter, group camps feel calmer and more intentional—perfect for relationship-building, leadership development, worship, reflection, or team bonding. 🌌

✅ Build Community
Share stories and meals, sing, reflect, or engage in meaningful group games that bring people together. 🔥

✅ Great Value for Groups
Winter weekends often mean better availability and more flexibility—making it easier to accommodate group sizes, tailor programs, and create a memorable shared experience. 🌿

If your church, youth group, or organisation is planning a winter weekend camp, now’s the perfect time to book. ❄️

Our group accommodation and programs still have limited availability and are ready to support an unforgettable winter experience.
