PART 1: THE END OF AN ERA 😭
When I started En Pointe eight years ago, I don’t think I could have imagined just how much this little studio would become such a massive part of my life.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to watch so many of our dancers grow from little beginners, into confident, talented young people.
I’ve watched first classes, first concerts, first pointe shoes, exam results, competitions, auditions, successes, disappointments, tears, laughter and so many incredibly special moments.
And somewhere along the way, these dancers became so much more than just students to me.
They became a very special part of my life.
So, what I’m about to say is something that I have found incredibly difficult to put into words.
But with Miss Ella moving to Perth, and with my first baby due to arrive very soon, I have had to make a really difficult decision about what the future looks like for me and my family.
For those who may not be aware, I actually live in Bunbury, and for the past eight years, I have travelled to and from Manjimup to teach and run En Pointe Dance Academy.
As much as I have absolutely loved every minute of it, I know that I can’t continue to do that while also being the mum and wife that I want to be.
So, it’s with a very heavy heart, I need to let you all know, that En Pointe Dance Academy South West will not be reopening in 2027.
This has honestly been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, and I want everyone to know that this decision isn’t because I have fallen out of love with dance, or because I don’t love this studio.
In fact, it is quite the opposite.
I love this studio, our dancers, and what we have created here.
Which is what makes saying goodbye so incredibly difficult.
But sometimes, life gives us new chapters that require us to make difficult choices.
And right now, my next chapter is becoming a mum and building a life with my own little family; and as heartbreaking as it is to close the doors of En Pointe, I need to put myself, and them first.
To be continued...
