Meet Ashleigh, the inspiring and passionate person responsible for bringing Inclusive Voices to Mandurah.
Ash first started out like so many people we know in our Community. Struggling to be listened to by doctors, employment agencies, support workers and sometimes even family. We trust these people but sometimes you just want to be asked how you feel about the choices or decisions being made about your life.
After experiencing this for many years, Ash knew things had to change. Ash started looking at different avenues to approach this. Engaging in activities with The 'Mandurah Inclusive Community', Networking at events, Working with 'People with Disabilities' doing Disability friendly workplace audits and much more.
Eventually Ash joined a Disability Provider for Employment and Micro-Enterprise in Mandurah called SproutSpace. Ash engaged with a Business Mentor there and spoke so passionately about creating change and helping people learn how do it for themselves. Saying how Advocacy needs to be taught far & wide and... many, many, more things, because Ash LOVES to talk 😋 and we love it!
We spoke about what Self-advocacy may look like as a workshop and just like that, Ash got business fever.
Over the next 12 months Ash worked not only on creating this incredible business but also continued working for the City of Mandurah MC'ing different events. Ash is a dedicated member of the Mandurah Drama Club 'Act one' and also runs another NFP event for the Mandurah Community every second Thursday called Pals Place
Ash enjoys the Easybeats evenings, loves Karaoke and all things sparkle 🤩
Ash's Mission is to show you that you too, can... Advocate, Empower & Thrive.
