Today is the last day of the Wearable Art Mandurah Exhibition at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah. 💜

This collection of garments demonstrates an incredible diversity of skills, methods and materials utilised by the Wearable Art Mandurah program participants, and everything from phone books, packing foam, foraged branches, paper cups and book pages have been used to create these works of art.After 12 years of presenting revolutionary works of art on the body, this exhibition will be the last event for the Wearable Art Mandurah program.

So, make sure to visit us before we close our doors tonight, and bid farewell to this amazing program that has been an integral part of the art scene in Mandurah for over a decade.

Did you know that paper wearable art is a fast-growing artform practiced all around the world?

The Wearable Art Mandurah Exhibition at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah features four incredible garments made from 90% paper materials, made by local and international artists.

Come on down to see these amazing feats of paper engineering, along with 22 other garments, at the Wearable Art Mandurah Exhibition.

This year the Wearable Art Mandurah exhibition is bringing the magic of wearable art to even more members of our community.

Selected garments in the exhibition will feature tactile touch boards and audio descriptions delivered by the artists themselves. These accessibility features are designed for people who are blind or have low-vision, but can also be enjoyed by children, people with sensory needs or just those interested in learning more about the garments.

Did you know you can make a garment out almost anything? 😮

The Wearable Art Mandurah Exhibition is host to 26 garments, using an unimaginable variety of techniques and materials including books, wheat stalks, milk bottles, sticks and tea-tags.

This exhibition is the perfect opportunity to get up close and marvel at the ingenuity and engineering skills of the designers who created the garments.

What an incredible night it was! ✨

The Wearable Art Mandurah Exhibition Opening was truly a spectacular evening. From starlit entertainment, moving speeches and of course the presentation of 26 unique, inventive garments, it was really an event to remember.

The exhibition is open from now until Sunday 2 April, so make sure you take the time to come on down to Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah between 10am-4pm, Wednesday-Sunday, to check it out!

Wearable Art Mandurah opens tonight! 🌟

The finishing touches are underway for the opening of the incredible Wearable Art Mandurah exhibition tonight at 7pm.

Come along and enjoy a lovely evening under the stars and inside the gallery, marvelling over the 26 amazing garments on display at CASM (63 Ormsby Tce).

We're a few days away from the Wearable Art Mandurah exhibition opening! ✨

The Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah team have been hard at work over the last two weeks installing this incredible exhibition. Each garment is exhibited in its own unique style to highlight the techniques, materials and structural forms that make them special.

On Tuesday night, Mandurah Council decided that our much-loved Wearable Art Mandurah competition would not continue.

This decision was not made lightly. A recent review of the Wearable Art program has evidenced increasing costs, decreasing local participation and, despite a relatively significant investment by the City of Mandurah, minimal return to the local economy.

We would like to sincerely thank and recognise the artists, designers, community, staff and everyone involved in Wearable Art Mandurah for their outstanding efforts and contributions over the years. 💜

Wearable Art Mandurah will be farewelled following an exhibition of selected 2022 competition garments at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah in Feb 2023. We hope to see you there.
