What a beautiful memorial today that truly celebrated Maryams dancing life by 3rd year fellow students of the VCA. Such beautiful stories shared that gave us an insight to her time at the VCA which she loved attending. We also heard a very special & deeply moving tribute from her father Hussein. Maryam was also a talented artist and a selection of her drawings & paintings were on display along with many of her favourite books, music & guitar. Maryam was truly a gifted young woman with a beautiful spirit who will be truly missed by so many. May you keep on dancing Maryam ❤️

Honouring the memory of the beautiful Maryam Adly whom we sadly lost earlier this year.

A memorial will be held today 15th May at 3pm at the
Victorian College of the Arts

For past students & friends of Maryam who would like to attend
Please note the memorial will be held at the old building of VCA in the RAD viewing room.

We have been so very saddened & shocked to hear of the passing of former ballet student Maryam Adley who lost her battle with leukaemia on Wednesday. Maryam you may remember was the daughter of ballet teacher Alla Sabirova who taught at TJC for a number of years. When I saw Maryam before Xmas she was so happy having just gained excellent results from her teachers at the VCA where she had been training & looking forward to returning to her dancing this year. It is quite hard to understand why someone this young & talented has their life snatched away from them. Maryam did fortunately get to perform last year at the Fringe Festival in a dance production called Resonance & was looking forward to doing more performance work.
It is so distressing & I have been so upset & shocked as I know many of her former dance friends will be to hear this news.
We give our deepest condolences, & prayers to Alla & Hussein & wish them all the strength & love to get through this most difficult time.
RIP Maryam we all love you & will sadly miss you. Keep on dancing up there.
