Reduction linocut printing is an exacting process because once you carve away a layer for the next colour, you can never go back and reprint the previous stage. It takes a lot of focus and precision to get the registration aligned perfectly across an entire edition, especially by the second stage where the multi-coloured image really begins to take shape. This is how Nicky has taken the first stage image through to the second stage. Stay tuned for the next stages ..........................
