It was lovely to add a little extra to the print that I was able to produce from my Aluminium Etched Plate, some tissue-thin small squares of gold paper stuck to the quality printing paper and then put through the press with the plate, inking the flowers over the top. This process is called Chine Colle’ and one that I was super keen to experiment with. I really like the outcome.

I love to reflect on my print making journey and the weekend I spent learning about Aluminium Metal Plate Etching with Kim Herringe of Maleny on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, such fun to play and learn new print making techniques.

I also love to create artwork based on Australian botanicals and the flannel flowers with kangaroo paws have been a favourite of mine.
