💕Almost, Maine opens on September 16th!💕

Almost, Maine is John Cariani's most well known play. Developed at the Cape Cod Theatre Project in 2002, it opened Off-Broadway in 2006 and was featured in Smith & Kraus' New Playwright's: Best Plays of 2006.

This story of love comprises nine interconnected stories, all taking place in an 'almost' town, at the same time, on the same night, and under the same mystical energy of the aurora borealis.

Almost, Maine will make you laugh, cry, and discover just how powerful the human heart can be.

MRT is proud to announce the cast of Almost, Maine! This talented cast play a myriad of characters across 9 interlocking tales of love on a cold midwinter night in the town of Almost, all under the mystical energy of the aurora borealis. Relationships begin, end and change as strangers become friends, friends become lovers and lovers become strangers.

Maitland Repertory Theatre is calling for expressions of interest from potential directors to direct 3 plays in 2027.
The plays are:
- "Thursday’s Child" adapted from the book by Sonya Hartnett - 9 shows: Sep 15 to Oct 3, 2027
- "Tons of Money" by Evans/Valentine adapted by Alan Ayckbourn - 9 shows: Nov 17 to Dec 5, 2027
- "Treasure Island" (our junior production) by R L Stevenson, adapted by Joseph George Caruso - 9 or 10 shows: July 14 to August 1, 2027
