Colouring Outside the Lines is a special exhibtion created by kids from George Street & Brunswick Street, East Maitland Preschool 💜

These schools have held a special place at the heart of our Maitland community - they've nurtured generations of children and families through play, creativity, connection and belong.

Colouring Outside the Lines celebrates the stories, memories and experiences of learning together and honours the children, the educators and families who've shaped these local preschool communities 💜

Only until 28 June, so get in quick! 🌈🌈🌈

On Friday night, the MRAG 2320 Collectors selected Belinda Street's incredible portrait of Toby Cedar as the 2026 Acquisition!

Toby Cedar is a proud Torres Strait Islander artist based in Maitland who finds deep connection between art, community and culture. Inspired by Cedar's work, and excited to discover that he was local to the region, Street reached out to him to learn more about his life and practice. This led to Cedar sitting for this portrait in 2022.

In 2023 MRAG presented Cedar's exhibition 'Mir Giz Kemerkemer Opged Lam Zenadh Kes: Stories from Eastern Islands Torres Strait' which celebrated Eastern Islands culture in both traditional and contemporary art forms.

Biggest thank you to our benefactors for selecting this incredible new work and hugest congrats to Belinda Street on becoming the newest addition to our collection.

"Sea of Legs" is a striking installation by Dr Judy-Ann Moule. The work draws on childhood memories and the feeling of being powerless, using scale to bring those emotions to the surface. On until 21 June in our project space.
