G'day everyone,
Pup here. I'm sorry to announce, especially after the last post I made one here, that there will not be fundraising event this year. As most can appreciate, it takes a lot of planning to run an event like we had last year. The outlay alone was nearly as much as we raised. Meaning if we had of recouped our expenses, CQ Rescue would have got next to nothing.

I put out a request for interest at the start of the year asking for assistance and ideas on how to make this years event better. One person replied, so at this time I'd say it's safe to to assume that the event should not go ahead this year due to a lack of public interest.

This is not a make the public feel bad for not supporting this event message. I take full responsibility. I've taken on a project in the interest of my soloist act, Just Pup, and have run out of time to push this. I needed help, though I didn't ask directly for it.
I'd like to thank everyone for thier support in he last two years and we'll see how we go for holding a similar event next year.

I've been asked by a few locals lately if we're holding another event in 2016. The answer is simply, yes, if we can get some assistance in planning and running the day. We still have to pick a date, book a venue a main band. This year we are hoping to form an informal committee to share the planning and work load on the day. Any body who wants to be involved is welcom to send a msg to this page and we'll reply ASAP. A few questions we'd some feedback on are:-

1) what time of year most people would be more likely to attend?

2) Which would you prefer, the same venue as last year (McGuiers CBD Hotel), or is there a more suitable venue?

3) Would you like to keep it as a jam, or a list of acts like a mini festival?

4) are you interested in the idea of another Musical Theamed Buy, Swap and Sell and market stalls?

Any feedback on these subjects is appreciated and noted.

Slowly getting our energy back (maybe lol).

A very important behind the scenes support we received, was the use of a large enclosed trailer. This made our job easier as it was only one trip instead of multiple and knowing that everything was safe overnight instead of having to unpack that night.

As a gift of appreciation, Matt and put a few things together. A certificate from us, which of course I just had to frame, then just had to decorate the plain black frame lol. A program of the event, so they knew what and why we did this and some pics from the day to show what they had helped achieve. I also felt it was appropriate to give a gift from myself, one of my original one off Key holders. Made from 100 year old timber & recycled organ keys.

The combined 2nd hand stall this Saturday is being well received. Lots of musicians will be there, and it's part of the fundraising event for CQ Rescue helicopter service. We have a secure process in place if you can't be there on the day. Cost is $2.00 an item which goes to CQ. If yr item sells (as per yr instructions), you get the $$$$. If not we return yr item to you. You increase yr chance of a sale and support charity at the same time.
