IT’S TIME TO THRIVE! 🩷🖤

Performa Studios is taking over the MECC stage for THRIVE, our 2026 end-of-year concert!

From our tiniest dancers experiencing the magic of the big stage, right through to our senior students, THRIVE brings together our entire studio for one huge night of performance, energy and entertainment.

Featuring an array of dance styles, there’ll be big energy, beautiful moments and plenty of personality as our students bring everything they’ve worked towards this year to life on stage.

But THRIVE is about more than what happens under the stage lights. It’s a celebration of how far our students have come, the confidence they’ve built, the friendships they’ve made and the joy that comes from doing something they truly love.

And just like that… the big one is here. 🩷🖤

Eisteddfod weekend. The weekend our competition students have been working towards for months, and one of our absolute favourite weekends on the Performa calendar.

Of course we can’t wait to see them take the stage and give these routines everything they’ve got. But there’s a whole lot more we’ll be watching for this weekend than what happens under the stage lights.

We’ll be watching the kids cheering from the wings. Our older students looking out for the younger ones. The student who notices someone is nervous and makes them laugh. The hugs when someone walks off stage. The genuine excitement when a friend does well. And our kids sitting in the audience, clapping just as loudly for dancers from other studios as they do for their own team.

Because all of that matters to us too.

We love teaching our kids to dance. We love watching them work hard, challenge themselves and become stronger performers.

But getting to watch them grow into kind, confident humans who know how to be part of something bigger than themselves? That’s the really good stuff. 🫶

That’s Team Performa.

So yes, go out there and dance your hearts out this weekend, kids. We’ll be your loudest cheer squad no matter what.

And to every dancer and studio taking the stage at Mackay Eisteddfod this weekend, good luck! We can’t wait to share the stage with you. ✨

Beyond Dance. Beyond Limits.

A little change of scenery for our seniors during Eisteddfod rehearsals this week! 🩷🖤

Ms Katrina swapped the dance studio for the reformers and put our girls through their paces with a Pilates session at PowerCore Pilates.

A massive thank you to Bianca at Powercore Pilates Boutique for so generously opening up your beautiful space to us. What a treat to break up a big week of rehearsals, challenge our girls in a different way and keep them moving, strong and motivated

Safe to say the seniors absolutely loved this one.

Thank you for having us, PowerCore! 💙💚

🚨 Queensland Dance Families, we need you! 🚨

For so many of our children, dance is not just a hobby. It is their sport, their therapy, their confidence, their community and their happy place. It is early mornings, late nights, sore feet, proud smiles and a love that runs deep.

Yet while so many other physical activities are recognised under the Queensland Play On Sports Vouchers, dance continues to be left off the list, meaning Queensland families who choose dance miss out on the same financial support available to everyone else.

That is not fair. And we have a chance to change it.

A petition is now live calling on the Queensland Government to ensure children who choose dance have the same access to Play On Sports Vouchers as children in any other eligible activity. We need as many signatures as possible before the petition closes on Friday 2 October - the stronger the numbers, the stronger the message taken to Parliament!

All it takes is one minutes. Sign the petition, share this post, tag a dance family and let's make some noise for our dancers! 📣

Every single signature counts.

A little glimpse into our favourite parts of Term 3 >>> 🩷🖤

Who can spot Miss Ella?! 👀🎓🩰

Sunday was a very special day for Miss Ella as she attended her official graduation ceremony at the Royal Academy of Dance in Sydney!

Over the past two years, during her time teaching with us at Performa, Ella worked towards her Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Dance Teaching (Ballet). This was no small achievement, with countless hours of written study, practical work and dedication behind the scenes.

Many days after finishing her morning Tiny Tots classes, Ella would settle in at the studio and spend the hours before afternoon classes diligently working away on her coursework. It makes us incredibly proud to now see all of that hard work recognised as she celebrates this wonderful milestone.

While Miss Ella may no longer be here with us in Mackay, she will always be a special part of our Performa community, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved.

Congratulations, Miss Ella! What a wonderful achievement and such an exciting step in your teaching journey. We miss you dearly and are so proud of you! 🩷🎓🌟

Searching: dance studio that cares about the whole child 🔍

We see you 🫶

Because when you walk through our doors you’ll find more than a dance class. You’ll find a place where students are nurtured, challenged, and celebrated all at once!

Where friendships are formed and independence is built. Where accountability and resilience are part of every single class, not just the ones before a performance. Where every child is seen as an individual, not just another student in the room.

Dance gave us all of this. And we cannot wait to share it with your child. 🩷

Term 2 is almost finished which means a new term is just around the corner. For families who are ready to watch their child truly thrive, message us today to begin your journey!⚡️
