It’s finally Friday and what better way to end an extremely busy week, than with a new kit release! The 60 series Single Cab Rear Wall Kit. 7 years it’s taken us to finally get this one out there….for no other reason than the 60 series are a rare breed round this neck of the woods. This kit features the all new key in interlocking panels, simplifying the entire process.

Huge, huge shout out to Cohen for allowing us to play with the vehicle over the last few months. Your enthusiasm was contagious and made the design phase a real pleasure!

🎉 NEW RELEASE 🎉 60 series Dual Cab Rear Wall Kit
We’ve done something a little different and made the rear panels and bracing in this kit key into one another and also centre line markers to make this one, the simplest install to date.

We had a very interesting conversation with a bloke other night that has prompted us to write a little post about our chassis extension kits.

We include all necessary components to complete the fabrication side of the extension for GU/GQ patrols, 80/100/105 series LandCruisers as we’ll as 79 series Land Cruisers.
Lengths consist of 300 450 and 600mm depending on the vehicle.

Qld design approval certificate and Engineers summary letter is also included.

What we DON’T include:
Extended brake lines
Extended tail shaft
Extended hand brake cable
Extended fuel lines
WHY? Because most of the above require existing parts, freight becomes difficult and costly and quite often driveline and brake system variables come into play.

We don’t offer certain parts from the kits as separate items, as this then voids the design approval certificate for our extension kits. A kit, is a kit..nothing more nothing less.
In your quote, you receive an itemised parts list telling you EXACTLY what parts you are getting.

A chassis extension is a major modification on a vehicle and not a mod to be carried out by just anyone.
CAM Fab recommends this type of work be carried out by an experienced and qualified person under the direction of their engineer..also explained in our disclaimer attached to your quote.

2 weeks ago we showed you a big insight into the tube work we do on our conversions. That radius edge we are well known for.
The tube work is now completed.

I don’t think you could get any closer to absolute perfection.
These pics show just how accurate we get things and again highlight how much paint and panel shops love our conversions due to lack of excessive pre paint prep work required.

Also I’ve thrown in a pic of the upgraded extended heavy duty tail shaft we fit with our inhouse chassis extensions vs a standard tail shaft.

Quality over quantity.

Chris and I are always asked about the radius edge on our conversions.

Can you include it in the kits?

Simple answer…No.
When we do our inhouse conversions, the tube work is done by hand. Not with a bender and a tub of bog.
Seriously, it’s Chris alone for 2/3 days notching pieces of 32nb to the EXACT shape of EACH vehicle.
After years of these older 4wd’s going through lord knows what, all cabs have some degree of twist and warp. It is inevitable. This is why we stress so much about the importance of levelling your vehicle before cutting (and still we see some of you skip that part).

Our tube work is second to none and being genuinely custom made to the vehicle to within a millimetre, is the reason our conversions are not caked in body filler before paint.
We always welcome people to stop by and have a look for themselves, at what true old school fabrication methods we use to get the very best results.

So to reiterate, this method of tube work will never be included in our kits, it is impossible.

Likewise, If you are looking for your conversion to be done by any business large or small, ask for these type of photos…ask to see one in the process or near to completion. I can guarantee you, so much is hidden underneath the shiny and pretty.

Good things come to those that wait and far out have we waited! First 60 series to make it over the threshold of CAM Fabrications. This old girl will be with us for the next few months while we do some wall kit development. So excited! Massive shout out to Cohen for being the one to take the leap and trust us to do what we do best! 😎

Put your hand up GU owners…we know y’all suffering with this issue. Instead of replacing the entire front panel, remove the lower section that rusts and replace with our laser cut 2mm zinc lower radiator support. This nifty replacement keys together with ease, and then simply weld back into place. Our GU radiator support has added holes in all sides to ensure you can give it a proper wash out to avoid rust issues in future. This product does require assembly and does require painting after installation. AVAILABLE FROM TUESDAY.

GU PATROL SCUFF PLATES

Few of you guys have been sending us messages asking for them back.
You’ve twisted my arm so we’ll do a limited run.

For our new followers, if your sills look like the first image below, we hear you and we’ve got the solution.
No need to completely replace the plastic sill tread plate like a couple we’ve seen on the market lately.
Our scuff plates fit neatly under the tread plate utilising the factory tread plate clip and heavy duty waterproof tape to ensure they stay where they are meant to, without trapping dirt and sand underneath, and no need to remove at regular intervals to clean underneath. These scuff plates offer protection from paint wear without sticking out like a sore thumb. Just a nice , neat, sedate addition.
We’ve had our set on our GU wagon for gosh…6 years I think. The very first ones Chris designed.

Anyway, first lot will be back in late next week.
Wagon & ute sets will be available.
Perfect addition to compliment our rear wall kits!
