So I'm writing and illustrating a children's book, Darshan the Martian, Adventures in Time & Space. I wanted to create something that kids could learn about space and our solar system, and the history of human flight. I also wanted to make it as a tribute to my son. The story takes place one hundred years in the future, and the main character, Darshan (rhymes with Martian), is an 8-year old boy who is born on Mars to parents from Earth. His best friend is a talking blue monkey named Zap! And then there's Scrap, a slightly malfunctioning robot which Darshan has built from spare rocket parts. This is a rough of the cover.
